Employee Burned to Death By Hot Billets
Employee #1 was driving a CTEC material transporter and was fatality injured when the leg of the pallet carrying hot billets struck a manhole that brought the vehicle to a sudden stop. The blooms that were being transported were then projected into the cab of the vehicle pinning Employee #1 inside the cab. The heat from the blooms (approximately 800-to-900 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature) started the cab on fire. Employee #1 was burned to death.
