TWO EMPLOYEES INJURED IN FIRE ESCAPE COLLAPSE

Two employees were working on an existing fire escape, located 60 feet above the ground. The masonry mortar joints to which the fire escape had been fastened for 100 years failed, and sent the two employees and approximately 80 feet of the fire escape falling to the ground. Employee #1 received contusions and Employee #2 a fracture in the fall, and both were hospitalized.
