Employee killed in fall

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on April 22, 1999, Employee #1 was working 12 ft above the ground trying to straighten a vertical column in a two-story steel office building. Employee #1 fell onto hard packed aggregate base course gravel and dirt. He landed on his back, collapsed his lungs, and struck his head. He was given CPR on site and taken to the hospital. That afternoon he began to have problems concentrating and was diagnosed with swelling and bleeding in his brain. He failed to respond to treatment and died at 5:10 p.m. on May 10, 1999.
