Employee injured in fall from roof

Employee #1 was walking approximately 3 ft below the roof ridge on a 6:12 pitched roof. He was carrying his tools and safety equipment in a bucket, and planned to suit up and connect to the ridge hook that already was in place. He was approaching the ridge hook when his feet went out from under him. Employee #1 slid off the roof and fell 29 ft to the sidewalk. He sustained injuries to his heels, knees, left pelvis, and back, for which he was hospitalized.
