Employee Is Injured in Fall from Ladder

On January 13, 2004, Employee #1, an apprentice painter, was working from an extension ladder set across a staircase and banister. He failed to tie-off or block the ladder against displacement. The ladder became displaced and the employee fell approximately 12 to 14 feet to the floor level. He sustained a fractured left wrist and was transported to Valley Medical Center where he was hospitalized.
