Employee injured in fall from ladder

At approximately 5:01 p.m. on February 17, 2003, Employee #1, a general laborer for a citrus farm in Visalia, CA, was removing wood siding from an old barn on the property. He was standing on a 10-foot wooden step ladder using a hammer to remove nails from the side of the barn when the ladder broke. He fell approximately 7 feet to the ground and fractured his right ankle. He was transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment.
