Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:15 p.m. on October 17, 2002, Employee #1, a laborer with Standard Cabinets and Counter Tops Co., was operating an IMC table saw to cut 1.5-in.-wide strips from a 0.75-in. by 10-in. by 10-ft board. When a narrow piece of a strip broke, it flew back and penetrated Employee #1's left palm. He was hospitalized at San Francisco General Hospital for the puncture wound.
