Employee Suffers Finger Amputation Using Filler Machine

On September 27, 2002, Employee #1 was preparing to conduct performance qualification (testing operation) for the Depynogenation Tunnel. .Glass vials travel via a conveyor line through the Depynogenation Tunnel where a sterilization process occurs and upon exiting the tunnel, the vials continue to travel to a TL Filler Machine. Employee #1 was attempting to clear the bottleneck of vials at the point in the conveyor line where the rotating turntables converge. Employee #1's right ring finger came in contact at the point where turntables were converging. Employee #1 sustained a partial amputation of the right ring finger and was treated for his injuries. Employee #1 was not hospitalized.
