Employee Hit By Falling Pieces Of Metal

On June 28, 2002, Employee #1 was standing in an aisle approximately 54 inches wide that was located outdoors and south of the laser fabrication shop. Two-hundred-pound pieces of light gauge metal strips measuring 10 feet by 12 inches were stored on a storage rack that was 122 inches in height. The pieces began to fall off the rack, striking Employee #1 on his head and lower legs. He sustained compound fractures to his right ankle and left foot and was treated at a local hospital.
