Employee's hand crushed in molding machine

Employee #1, the second shift operator of an injection molding machine, arrived for his shift early and told his counterpart on the first shift that the machine needed cleaning. The coworker activated the machine, not realizing that Employee #1 had begun to clean the mold area. The palm of Employee #1's left hand when Employee #1's palm was crushed.
