Employee Is Injured in Aerial Lift Incident

On the morning of July 14, 2005, Employee #1 was seriously injured when a coworker operating an aerial lift, model JLG Model 600 S, rested the vehicle's platform underneath the perimeter of a building floor level. Employee #1 had not received instructions on the safety and health hazards to which he would be exposed to. The employer failed to ensure that the manufacturer's operator and safety procedures were followed by its employees when the platform became snagged with the structure. Employee #1 suffered an amputation to his arm and was hospitalized.
