Employee fractures leg when he fall from roof rafters

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on April 30, 2001, Employee #1 was assigned to place some sub purlins between the main purlins. The roof was 18.5 ft high and he was using a scissor lift to do the job. He decided on his own to get out of the scissor lift and to get on top of the roof. He had placed a sheet of plywood on the purlins when one or more of the sub purlins came loose and he fell 18.5 ft to the concrete floor. He was hospitalized with a broken left leg.
