Employee fell when aerial ladder separated from base

At approximately 11:11 p.m. on January 13, 2002, Employee #1, a laborer for Franco Signs, was installing a sign when he fell from a Sponco Aerial Ladder when it separated from its base point. He was pinned between the ladder platform and the concrete sidewalk. Employee #1 sustained a compound fracture and laceration of his right knee, and was hospitalized.
