Employee lost his left finger tip

On September 7, 2001, an employee of De Anza Campland was injured while assisting a guest with an awning on a recreational vehicle (RV). The employee, a park ranger, had his fingers pinched in the mechanism of the awning when it collapsed on him. He was taken by the park vehicle to Pacific Beach Urgent Care Unit. The employee lost the tip of his left ring finger in the accident. He was not hospitalized for his injuries.
