Investigation Summary
At about 9:00 a.m. on July 10, 2001, Employee #1, a tree trimmer, was working in a tree at a private residence. The employee used a climbing rope and tied off a safety line which was attached to his safety belt and saddle. Shortly thereafter he was on a lower branch trimming branches and was about to move his safety line to another location when he fell nine feet to the ground. Employee #1 was hospitalized with serious injuries to his back. It is not known how his safety line failed as there were no witnesses and Employee #1 could not remember the exact details. When found, he was still attached to his belt, and rope was on the ground.
