Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 201022746
Event: 06/22/2010
Employee's Collarbone Is Fractured When Run over by Tractor

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 22, 2010, Employee #1, a farm worker, was operating a Massey Ferguson tractor. He was trying to shift into reverse, and his foot slipped off the clutch pedal and the tractor moved forward in high first gear. He attempted to jump off the tractor to prevent his face hitting a barbed wire fence. His right foot became entangled either with the gear stick shift or the seat, and he tumbled to the ground on the left side of the tractor. The tractors rear wheel rolled over him, fracturing his collarbone. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
