Investigation Summary
A line-clearance tree-trimming crew was trimming trees along a 12.47-kilovolt overhead power line. During a job briefing with his supervisor, a line-clearance tree trimmer was given the job of trimming branches from several trees along the back of the power line. As the employee was moving his aerial lift bucket into position behind the power line, he contacted two of the phase conductors and was electrocuted. The supervisor was in the truck doing paperwork at the time of the accident.
