ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU METAL PROBE

An employee was using a 3-meter-long brass probe to take a sample of grain from a railcar. A 7200-volt overhead power line was located about 3.7 meters above him. The probe contacted the power line, and the employee was electrocuted. He had not received any training or guidance from his employer about working near overhead power lines.
