Event: 01/12/1985
EMPLOYEE'S HAND CAUGHT IN MACHINE

Employee #1, a mechanic, was taking measurements to make adjustments to correct a problem with a Meyers labeler. The labeler was applying labels to plastic bottles of liquid soap. The labels were not getting enough glue and were falling off of the bottles. Employee #1 reached 20 in. over the guard on the machine while it was running to take a measurement near the moving wiper pad cylinder assembly. The guard was 59 in. from the floor. His foot slipped on something on the floor and his hand got caught and was crushed between the station frame and the wiper section movement.
