EMPLOYEE STRUCK AND KILLED BY FALLING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

EMPLOYEE #1 WAS ASSISTING IN THE REMOVAL OF 4 FOOT BY 8 FOOT SHEETS OF TEMPERED MASONITE FROM A STACK. THE STACK WAS LEANING AGAINST A WALL. SUDDENLY THE WEIGHT OF THE MATERIALS EMPLOYEE #1 WAS HOLDING UP BECAME TOO HEAVY. HE FELL BACKWARDS, STRIKING HIS HEAD ON THE RAISED WORK PLATFORM. THE FALL, PLUS THE WEIGHT OF THE MATERIAL ON EMPLOYEE #1 CAUSED A FATAL INJURY TO EMPLOYEE #1'S HEAD.
