Employee killed when struck by tractor truck

Employee #1, age 18, was welding steel rebar inside an 8 to 9 in. punch out (hole) while repairing sections of the right lane of Interstate 20 near Brandon, MS. An 18-wheeled tractor trailer ran off into one of a series of punch outs. The vehicle drove through three of these holes before it struck Employee #1. The truck dragged him as it went off the left side of the highway into the median, where it ignited and burned. Employee #1 was killed. His body was later recovered from the front of the truck's undercarriage.
