Employee sustains fractures in fall from unsecured planks

Employee #1, a carpenter foreman on a residential project, went through a window to access a carpenter's wall bracket scaffolding. Earlier that day, a coworker had removed one of the wall brackets, but left the scaffolding planks overhanging the remaining wall brackets. When Employee #1 stepped on the overhanging unsecured planks, they tipped and he fell 16 ft to the ground. Employee #1 sustained multiple fractures and was hospitalized.
