ELECTRIC SHOCK - GROUND FAULT IN ELECTRIC MOTOR

AN EMPLOYEE WAS REPAIRING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR ON AN AMF BOWLING PIN SETTING MACHINE. HE WAS SITTING ON A GROUNDED STRUCTURAL MEMBER OF THE MACHINE WHILE HE WAS WORKING. HE HAD NOT DEENERGIZED THE EQUIPMENT BEFORE HE STARTED TO WORK ON IT. THE MOTOR HAD A GROUND FAULT; AND, WHEN THE EMPLOYEE SEPARATED THE ENCLOSURE FOR THE MOTOR'S POWER SUPPLY CONDUCTORS FROM THE FRAME OF THE MOTOR, HE WAS ELECTROCUTED.
