EMPLOYEE CRUSHED BETWEEN FRAME AND GUARD OF PALLETIZER

EMPLOYEE #1 WAS ASKED TO OBSERVE THE AUTOMATIC SLIP PLACER ON A ABS PALLETIZER UNIT IN AN ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF A JERKING MOTION. EMPLOYEE #1 LOOKED OVER THE GUARD AND DOWN AT THE CHAIN DRIVE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE MAIN FRAME AND SLIDER DECK WERE MOVING DOWNWARD TO THE HOME POSITION. HE WAS PINNED BETWEEN THE MAIN FRAME AND THE GUARD AND WAS KILLED.
