Investigation Summary
On February 11, 1987, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Employee #1 was on top of the Appalachian Power Company sub station building in Saltville. In the process of cutting roof steel beams from the building he walked the north wall either to signal the crane operator or a ground man and as he returned to his position his foot slipped causing him to fall approximately 32 ft to a concrete floor landing on his head and shoulders. He was hospitalized for a concussion.
