Investigation Summary
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 25, 1988, Employees #1 through #3 were preparing to leave work at a fireworks building; two coworkers remained in an office area at the front of the building. A sudden flash fire apparently started at the rear of the building, where fireworks were being handled, and raced through its center toward the front doors, eventually engulfing the building. Employee #1 was caught and trapped in the flames and died. Employees #2 and #3 managed to escape but Employee #2 died later at a burn center; The coworkers escaped. The precise cause of the accident is being investigated.
