Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 164412.015
Event: 02/23/2024
Employee dies from natural causes, probable heart disease

At 3:15 p.m. on February 23, 2024, an employee working for a lumber company was sitting in his chair in his office. His office was located at the back of the warehouse in the window sales department. The employee started work at 7:00 a.m. that day and was working alone at the time. The employee took lunch at between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. and was seen walking through the front office around 1:15 p.m. At approximately 3:15 p.m., a coworker returning from a delivery found the employee in his chair in the office unresponsive. The employer called 911 and EMS pronounced the employee dead at the scene at 3:24 p.m. The employee had died from natural causes most likely due to heart problems.
