Investigation Summary
An employee was working as a machine operator for a plastics manufacturing company when she was sent home after a partial shift on November 29, 2020, for feeling ill. On December 1, the employee was hospitalized and tested positive for COVID-19. On December 10, 2021, the employee died due to complications from COVID-19-related pneumonia and a pre-existing emphysema. There were several employees infected with COVID-19 in the weeks prior to the employee contracting the infection.
