Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

On October 13, 2021, an employee who worked as a corrections officer in a County jail tested positive for COVID-19. On October 21, 2021, the employer was notified that the employee was hospitalized and had been placed on a ventilator due to COVID-19. On November 2, 2021, the employee died as a result of COVID-19. The employee is believed to have contracted COVID-19 in the workplace after a COVID-19 outbreak in the jail. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
