Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee worked an a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a skilled nursing facility. The employee worked second shift, part time, at the facility and had another job at a local meat processing facility. On October 25, 2021, the employee had worked most of her shift and toward the end of her shift she reported not feeling well. The employer conducted a rapid COVID-19 test that came back positive. The employee was sent home and placed on quarantine. The employee died in her home on October 27, 2021 and was found by a family member on that day. All the residents she had had interacted with were tested and came back negative for COVID-19. The unit she worked in did not have any positive patients and she did not work in the unit where positive patients were housed.
