Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee performed installation and repair work. On Friday, August 6, 2021, the employee and a coworker made a delivery to a customer. The employee and coworker both both began to feel ill and exhibited COVID-19 related symptoms over the weekend. On August 8, 2021, both the employee and his coworker went to the hospital. The coworker was provided a steroid shot and sent home the same day and the employee was admitted for observation where he stayed until August 10, 2021. On August 10, 2021, the employee was released from the hospital and allowed to return home to quarantine. On August 16, 2021, the employee returned to the hospital due to the severity of his symptoms increasing. The employee was admitted and remained at the hospital until his death at 5:00 p.m. on September 17, 2021. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
