Investigation Summary
At 1:03 p.m. on August 8, 2021, an employee who had worked as a Highway Patrol Officer for a State Police Department died from COVID-19. The employee began to feel ill on July 25, 2021. The employee called off work on July 25, 2021. On July 26, 2021, the employee called off work again and drove himself to the hospital. The employer was not able to determine where the employee contracted COVID-19. The employer did not have Adequate Aerosol Transmissible Diseases policies and procedures in place.
