An employee was working as a peace officer, transporting patients to court and other appointments off of the employer's premises. The employee contracted COVID-19 in the course of his duties and a worsening hypoxia caused him to be hospitalized. The employee died due to COVID-19 complications at 4:30 p.m. on September 25, 2021.
