Investigation Summary
At 3:26 p.m. on September 2, 2021, an employee who had worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in a detention facility for a County Sheriff's Department was hospitalized for treatment for COVID-19. The employee worked as an (LVN) performing medical care for inmates at a central jail downtown. Two workers at the same location developed COVID-19 around the same timeframe as the employee, but they worked in different areas of the facility as Deputy Sheriffs. The employer did not have Adequate Aerosol Transmissible Diseases policies and procedures in place.
