Investigation Summary

At 9:48 a.m. on August 12, 2021, an employee who worked as a deputy in a detention facility for inmates was reported hospitalized with COVID-19. The employee had been off work from August 5, 2021, but did not notify his employer about his hospitalization until August 16, 2021. The employee is a deputy that performs daily duties of inmate care and control including moving inmates around the facility. None of his coworkers at the same location developed COVID-19 around the time of he contracted the disease. No factors in the workplace are known to have contributed to contracting COVID-19.
