Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

At 2:20 p.m. on August 2, 2021, an employee who worked for a city public safety department reported to a job with a coworker to install 2 fire detectors at an elderly resident's home. On August 31, 2021, the employee died due to COVID-19. On August 11, 2021, the employee became symptomatic and was placed out of work. The employee was tested and received positive results on August 13, 2021. On August 19, 2021, the employee was hospitalized and remained in the hospital until he died from COVID-19 at approximately 12:00 p.m. on August 31, 2021. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
