An employee, a laboratory technician, processed samples brought to the lab and entered them into the computer database. The employee placed the samples into a centrifuge as needed and placed them in racks for the lab staff to pick-up. The employee contracted COVID-19 and died from the infection at 10:00 a.m. on August 28, 2021.
