Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working for a city's public service agency. He was a fire fighter recruit. During the week of July 29, 2021, he attended the fire fighter II session of fire fighter recruit school. The lead instructor for the training began feeling sick on or about July 29. He continued to teach the class until July 30. On or about July 31, the lead instructor tested positive for COVID-19. He was sent to quarantine. The employee began to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, and he was tested on or about August 2. He received positive results on the following day, August 3. He was hospitalized on August 10. On or about August 12, he was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) and put on a ventilator. He remained in the ICU until he died of COVID-19, on the morning of August 15, 2021.
