Event: 07/29/2021
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working for a family-run pizza chain as a utility worker that could cover almost all positions as needed at the restaurant. The employee's last day at work was July 19, 2021, when he went home early, frustrated with the mask requirements. The unvaccinated employee began having symptoms of COVID-19 on July 20, 2021 and called in sick to work. The employee was tested for COVID-19 and received the positive result on July 24, 2021. The employee was directed to isolate and self-quarantine at home. During the time frame of the employee developing symptoms and testing positive, two other employees also tested positive for COVID-19. All three employees worked together on July 18, 2021. The employee was found unresponsive by his roommate on July 29, 2021 and was admitted to a medical center where he died on August 4, 2021.
