An employee was working as a patient access specialist in a healthcare facility when he was exposed to COVID-19 while performing check-in and registration which involved direct patient contact. The employee checked-in and registered patients known to be positive for COVID-19 on July 17-20, 2021. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 on July 23, 2021 and died from COVID-19 related pneumonia on August 2, 2021.
