Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working as a telephone operator for a general medical and surgical hospital. She worked at a corporate facility. She and her coworkers worked in a room that was approximately 16 by 32 feet (4.9 by 7.3 meters) in size. Employees worked in cubicles with sides and did not work face to face. The employee began experiencing symptoms of illness on July 22, 2021. She received a positive COVID-19 test on July 25, 2021. She died on August 2, 2021, of respiratory issues due to COVID-19. Investigation 137803 covered the death of her coworker. The coworker reported experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 on approximately July 16, 2021. She was hospitalized on July 22, 2021. She died on August 1, 2021, from respiratory issues due to COVID-19.
