Investigation Summary
At 2:45 p.m. on July 16, 2021, Employee #1 was bracing a 2 x 4 board with both hands on the outfeed side of a Pistorius Model LH-18 UC-P upcut circular saw. The employee reached with his right foot to activate the saw while holding the board, with four fingers in the cut zone. This resulted in amputation of four fingertips. The employee was hospitalized.
