Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working in the packaging department of a tortilla factory keeping the wrapping machines stocked during the packaging process. The employee worked alone most of the time and was wearing appropriate PPE. Social distancing was also practiced in the facility. The employee's last day at work was on June 15, 2021, and he called in sick the next day with vomiting and an upset stomach. On June 25, 2021, the employee was admitted to the hospital for treatment for COVID-19 and was there until he died due to complications at 8:30 a.m. on July 12, 2021.
