One Employee with COVID-19 infection dies and another is hos

An employee was conducting sleep studies in an enclosed office space in close proximity with a coworker who was exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 during a 12-hour work shift. Employees were not provided physical barriers or alternative workspaces to reduce exposure to coworkers. The employee tested positive for COVID-19 on May 24, 2021 after feeling sick for three days. The employee was hospitalized on May 29, 2021, for pneumonia and subsequently died in the hospital on June 5, 2021.
