Employee sustains shoulder contusions when struck by falling

At 9:15 a.m. on May 12, 2021, an employee working as a laborer for a aggregate, gravel, sand supplier was loading a truck. The employee was operating the controls to load asphalt from Silo 2 when a piece of material slid down from the top of the silo and struck the employee. The material fell from approximately 56 feet and hit the right edge of his hard hat knocking it off. The material them hit his neck and shoulder area. The employee received medical treatment for contusions to his shoulders.
