Investigation Summary
An employee had been working as a Cook in the kitchen of a licensed skilled nursing facility. The nursing facility is located within a retirement community. On October 14, 2020, the employee tested positive for COVID-19 during routine periodic facility testing and was sent home the same day. At 4:15 p.m. on October 24, 2020, the employee began to experience respiratory distress and was hospitalized. The employee was treated for COVID-19 related pneumonia and released on October 28, 2020.
