An employee worked as a furnace operator for a secondary smelter and producer of aluminum alloys. The employee called off work on December 1, 2020 without providing a reason. The employer was notified on December 2, 2020 that the employee had been tested for COVID-19 and the test result was positive. At 8:00 a.m. on December 3, 2020, the employee was hospitalized.
