Investigation Summary

At 3:25 p.m. on December 14, 2020, an employee who worked as a Registered Nurse for a skill nursing facility contracted COVID-19. December 14, 2020 was the employee's last day of work. On that date, the employee was tested and recieved a positive test result on December 15, 2020. On December 16, 2020, the employee was transported to the hospital for treatment, where he was admited for more than 24 hours. The employee was placed on a ventilator and has not returned to work at the time the narrative was submitted. The worksite includes an inpatient rehabilitation and medical treatment center staffed with trained medical professionals. The employee reported he had been working with COVID-19 patients and believes that is where he likely contracted the virus. The employer reported an outbreak of during that time which included 36 patients and 19 staff. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are also not included in the narrative.
