Employee is injured when falls from electric cart

At 3:45 p.m. on March 30, 2021, an employee was sitting in the passenger seat of a Motrec electric cart. The employee was injured when he slid out of the moving electric cart, losing his balance and falling on the ground, hitting his head. The Division was notified on March 31, 2021, and arrived on site on April 6, 2021. The Division found during the investigation that the driver of the electric cart got in and fully compressed the accelerator and turned the steering wheel sharply to make a U-turn, and that the passenger was not hanging on at the time. Due to the momentum, the passenger slid out of the vehicle, stumbled backwards, and fell onto the asphalt ground, striking the back of his head and losing consciousness. The employee was hospitalized.
