Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working as a furnace, kiln, or oven operator for a manufacturer of electrometallurgical ferroalloy products. He operated the facility's CF1 furnace. In the week prior to March 5, 2021, several of the coworkers in his department who had come into close contact with him had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. On March 5, 2021, he tested positive for COVID-19. On or about March 30, 2021, he was admitted to the hospital. At 7:00 p.m. on April 6, 2021, he died.
